Chris Granshaw's Class
Last year after a few visit's to Chris's Silver Sands Studio I decided that a day class would be a great idea for a girls weekend away. We had a fantastic time and decide that another class must be done this year. Last year we all made different things in the form of necklaces, earrings, and key rings using things from the beach. This year we decided on making charms for a Pandora bracelet and one of the girls made a ring. The day starts with great coffee and morning tea and the health and safety formalities are gone over and then some suggestions on ideas for beads and designs. Then into the garage which is converted to our studio where we can go mad with designs and great ideas. What is wonderful about the classes with Art Clay is that you finish up the day taking some thing home that you have made and all of the pieces turned out and were brilliant. I can't wait until someone admires my bracelet and I can say ...I made that! All of us girls decided that too long was left between classes and they have to be more frequent. Is it the strain of the creative juices flowing or the wonderful lunch we got served that made me so tired at the end of the day?

None of us are overly creative or arty but you just have to have a go and a warning it is addictive.

I have to write and thank you again for such a great night on Friday. My "Angel Fish" was much admired at the market on Saturday. As I said to your mum, I am definitely hooked and will be hunting down a second hand kiln.

Trust you had a safe and not too bumpy trip home. And I am really looking forward to your New Year classes.

I couldn't sleep on Friday night after my drive home as my brain was going 10 to the dozen with creative designs for glass goodies/jewellery.

I attended the silver jewellery course on Sunday and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. Ingrid is an excellent tutor and the day far exceeded my expectations. It was completely new to me and I learnt a lot, had fun and was very happy with the articles I produced. One small point – it would have been handy to have known there was no tea making facility so we could have taken cups and a thermos. But otherwise, thanks to EIT for the opportunity to attend this great course.
